User and Society

For me, design is deeply intertwined with the user, shaping everyday experiences and creating value for people. Feminist design theories underscore the critical importance of inclusivity, equity, and responsiveness to diverse user needs in technological advancements. These theories advocate for participatory design methods, ensuring that users actively participate in the process (including my suggested method of “designed by” in my FBP), thereby amplifying their voices and influencing outcomes. This user-centered approach is essential for crafting solutions that authentically resonate with and benefit communities. By prioritizing the societal impact of design, feminist perspectives challenge conventional one-size-fits-all approaches, championing instead products that cater to a broad spectrum of identities and experiences. My perspectives on user and society have been enhanced by my studying, including taking part in the courses: Engineering Design, Project 3, Internship, Design for Debate and my FBP.
